At Cyprus we celebrate and cater to the gifts and abilities that each child has from early preschool through the early elementary years. We believe there are limitless positive results when we catch a child while they have a thirst and motivation to learn. For many children, this happens well before age 5, when a typical kindergarten program begins. Many children master and advance beyond a typical kindergarten program before they are old enough to enter kindergarten. Other students have the potential to speedily conquer the basics of reading and mathematics in the early elementary years leaving them bored with a typical school curriculum. .
Cyprus Classical Montessori accomodates the needs of these children by providing them with an early elementary program that is both individualized and serves the intellectual capacity of students with high ability. We not only furnish the tools to create a strong foundation in reading, writing science, mathematics and the arts, but also work with children on using these skills in a more challenging framework, giving our students the opportunity to develop their minds.
We consider these students to be our future leaders, not allowing their gifts and talents to dissipate as they may when faced with a typical curriculum and when few special accomodations for students with high-ability are available.

For Math and Language, we have ability based groups and a fast paced curriculum geared toward the unique needs of young students of high ability. We take into consideration the fact that high-ability students learn faster, so we progress quickly through topics, keeping them challenged. We understand and challenge exceptionally and profoundly gifted students.
