Cyprus Camps are open to the general community. Students do not need to attend Cyprus Schools in order to enroll in our summer camps.

Music Camps

I've Got the Beat Music Camp Ages 3 - 5

Young musicians will feel the beat with a wild variety of rhythm instruments they will listen to, play and create. There will be lots of dancing and singing and fun activities in this week long camp for music lovers!

Strings and Keyboard Ensemble Camp Ages 5 - 12 (GT Camp*)

Our week-long camp for musicians ages 5 -- 12 brings children together for a unique combination of playing together, learning, challenge, and fun! Campers will gain experience in an orchestra and ensemble groups and work in theory groups and guided practices to improve their skills. There will be a concert on the last day of camp to show off what the children have worked on all week.

*Students must be able to read music at a beginning level.

Math-a-Logic Challenge Ages 6 - 9 (GT Camp*)

Strengthen your critical thinking skills by solving mysteries and puzzles. Learn "Brainetics" math tricks and patterns that will change the way you see math and astonish your friends and family! Use your spatial reasoning skills and learn how to draw shapes in a new way. Take the Math-a-logic challenge!

*3rd grade level math and up (Must have memorized addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts.)

Truss, arch, suspension, and more - - Inquisitive minds will learn about bridge structures and study famous examples from around the world. Students will take a virtual field trip to bridges around the world, hear from a special guest speaker, and enjoy learning the physics behind building. Students create their own bridge models based on the principles of physics and through the process of scientific inquiry.

*Must have a good attention span and basic math skills (addition and subtraction within 20)

Young Engineers: Bridges Ages 7-10 (GT Camp*)

Truss, arch, suspension, and more -- In this full-day camp, young engineers learn about bridge structures and study famous examples from around the world. Students will take a virtual field trip to bridges around the world, hear from a special guest speaker, take a field trip to see and study local bridges, and enjoy learning the physics behind building. Students create their own bridge models based on the principles of physics and through the process of scientific inquiry.

Playground Math Ages 4-6 (GT Camp*)

How many rectangles can be found in a set of monkey bars? How do you measure the angle of a slide and how does the angle of incline help you go down faster (or slower)? Students are introduced to a variety of tools and geometric concepts for hands-on exploration of everyone's favorite play space: The playground! We will explore different playgrounds around the community during this camp and enjoy being outdoors and learning math!

*Must be able to add and subtract within 20.

Director's Club: Movie Makers Ages 6 - 9 (GT Camp*)

Lights! Camera! Action! Use your writing and acting skills! Use sound effects! Put music to video! Get ready to learn how to create a movie from planning and scripting through editing to a final production!

*This is a fast paced class with some technical material. Campers should understand the basics of how a computer works and be able to understand movie editing.

If I Ran the Zoo Ages 4-6

Students take on the roles of zookeepers and veterinarians to make important decisions about which animals to keep in their zoo and how to care for them. The young zookeepers conduct research and design animal habitats, create signs and other zoo literature, and discuss ethical issues related to zoo life and endangered animals. Early literacy skills are developed through drawing, dictation, and emergent writing.
