Philosophy
We believe that each child has unique abilities and talents. Typical school situations are set up to offer the same things to all children of the same age, regardless of ability. This system leaves the students who already know the curriculum with nothing to challenge them. We believe that all children have the right to learn in school. Cyprus is set up with ability-based, rather than age based classes, and geared toward the highest ability students. Even profoundly gifted children are able to find similar aged AND similar abiltiy peers at Cyprus. We also believe that these students need in-depth and enriching exposure to many different ideas and topics. We provide an enriching environment with very small classes during the entire day, leaving children challenged and engaged all day at school.
